Our Edmund Rice Charism

The Edmund Rice Charism, rooted in the vision of Blessed Edmund Rice, forms an integral part of the identity of Gilroy Santa Maria College. Guided by Edmund Rice’s dedication to education, justice, and faith, we continue the legacy established by the Christian Brothers when they founded Cardinal Gilroy College, one of the original schools that united to form Gilroy Santa Maria College.

Blessed Edmund Rice devoted his life to providing quality education to young people, particularly the poor and marginalized, empowering them with the tools to overcome challenges and transform their communities. His charism inspires us to live lives of compassion, integrity, and service, creating a school environment where every student is encouraged to grow in character, faith, and academic excellence.
