Pastoral Care
The purpose of Pastoral Care at Gilroy Santa Maria College is to fulfil the College's Mission Statement:
"to nurture the growth of the whole person in a safe, supportive and inclusive Catholic learning environment."
Pastoral Care is delivered via a program of planned strategies and informal experiences which build supportive relationships between members of the College community. It places the student at the centre of its activities and aims to assist all members of the GSMC community reach their full potential.
Enrolment at the College is dependant on acceptance of the school rules, codes of behaviour and policies, including those regarding curriculum, discipline, dress, conduct, Workplace Health & Safety, and well-being. School expectations and policies are in the interest of the wellbeing of the whole school community.
The Team
The Pastoral Team is able to provide assistance in dealing with behavioural and social issues, anxiety, stress, resilience, study habits, harassment and other emotional needs - they can be contacted via the College office.
The College's Pastoral Care Program is supported by a team consisting of:

- Paul Rand - Year 7/8 Pastoral Leader
- Jordan Di Bella - Year 9 Pastoral Leader
- Jack Dixon - Year 10 Pastoral Leader
- Erin Cerutti - Year 11/12 Pastoral Leader
- Kate Stringini & Peter Groundwater - Guidance Counsellors
- Sandra La Rosa - College Chaplain
The team also facilitates a variety of year level and whole school pastoral events throughout the year to engage and cater to all students.
